Hi Shannon!
I work with your dad at Sullivan. He told me about your site and I have to say as a former NE Philly resident myself I really like what you're doing here! Hope you continue to keep up the good work. Good luck with the job hunt! I know someone with your talent will get something great soon! I also just wanted to let you know how proud your dad is of you! He speaks of you and your brother often and always with a beaming smile on his face.
Best of Luck to you!

Hello Ms. McDonnald,

My name is Melanie Smith and I'm a senior high school student attending The Young Women's Leadership School @ Rhodes. The reason why I'm writing you is because I live in Strawberry Mansion and I happen to be doing my senior project on a community assessent of my neighborhood Strawberry Mansion . Anyway, I've been working on this project for months now and it's due next week. I just got on my computer a few minutes ago to do some finishing touches and wasn't expecting to do any further research, but I did and I found your article. Everything you wrote really stuck out to me and was very touching because it's been hard for me to find the more personal articles about the neighborhood. All I could find were bits and pieces of statistics, and that's not exactly what I wanted show. I wanted to show the personal side of the community not just the statistics because I believe the community has more to offer than that. But again I just wanted to thank you because your article has really been a source of help for me.

The Wednesday afternoon, when the Starbucks Manager was killed, I arrived at the scene of His attack about an hour and 1/2 to two hours later, on my way to catch a New Jersey Transit Bus at the end of the 13th Street station. I saw the police presence arround the area and the detective concentrating on it, and then I realized that something really bad had happened here. I got scared, turned straight arround, and did not look back. Then I ran to the 12th St. Stairs an up as fast as I could.
